Casement Window
Casement Windows are Sash Windows that open using hinges at either side.
Dormer Roof Windows
Dormers protrude out from the roof, used mainly for loft attic conversions. Dormer Windows usually contain a Box Sash Casement Window and join to the roof rafters. Dormers have their own sides and roof and offer lofts more space and height.
Double Glazing & Triple Glazed
Double glazing is the use of additional panes of glass in the window to reduce heat loss and provide sound proofing. Double glazed windows manufactured in a sealed unit are most energy effecient. Triple glazing provides excellent sound proofing properties.

Double Hung Windows
Windows divided into two seperate sections. One of the double hung sash windows sections can slide up and down past the other.

These are windows specifically designed not to open and can be manufactured in various styles to suit.
Velux Windows Roof-Lights
Roof Lights or Velux Windows are a flat window installed ijn line with the slope of the roof. Used in loft conversions they fit flush with the line of the roof and allow more light to enter the attic conversion.


Pane & Sash
Pane refers to the piece of glass used in a window. Sash refers to the wooden, metal or UPVC framework that the panes of glass are set in to form a window.
Leaded Windows
Windows in which the Glass is composed of small panes of glass held together by grooved strips of lead. Usually rectangular or Diamond shaped pieces of Glass make up the main Pane, this design is common on Tudor properties.
Stained Glass Windows
This type of ornate glasswork can often be found in Churches and consists of small shaped panes of different coloured glass. Used in large windows, skylights or doors mainly and can be created with different patterns or pictures using many colours of glass.
Louvre Window
Made from slats of glass that swivel in the same fashion as a blind at the pull of a lever. Used mainly in toilets or bathrooms to provide ventilation, the horizontal position of the glass prevent rain entering when in the open position.
Fan-Light
Fanlights are placed above doors and windows and are usually a semi circle shaped window.
French Doors
These are doors that contain one or more panes of glass, used mainly at the rear of properties. French Doors can be made from Wood, Metal or UPVC and include upto eight seperate panes of glass or even consist of just one large pane of glass.

Tripartite Window refers to a window divided into three sections.
